Mike Jackson's 31 Model A Tudor
Mike Jackson has owned his Model A since High School at Kingsburg High. The car has been collecting dust for years and was in need of a good hot rodding. The Idea to restore the car came from his wife and kids. They planned to hot rod it without Mike knowing and to give it to him during a special date, which they did! Matt Jackson came up with the idea and contacted Double Z Hot Rods to see what could be done. They met and the rest is history, which you can see in our gallery. Matt and brothers Ryan, Greg, and Kyle along with Mike's wife Lori, decided to hot rod the car to what they believed Mike would like. Color, modifications, upholstery, styling, wheels, engine, and frame were all decided upon with Mike's taste in cars in the front of their minds. HRC has done a couple of articles on this car during stages of the build within our "Whats New" page. Check out those past articles to see the car being worked on. The overall objective was to have a reliable hot rod that looked subtle but cool and that could be driven to the coast. A Frame was purchased from TCI and the motor built by Smith Auto in Dinuba. The body was in great shape for a model A, which is rare. A Deuce tank was added and cowl filled and molded, and that was the extent of the customization to the car. The rest was refurbished. Double Z Hot Rods did all the work to get the car hot rodded and on the road. They gave the car to their Dad this past Father's Day and he loved it. Take a look at the Pictures!
