August 3rd was 104 degrees outside, however that didn't stop 439 hot rods from showing up out at "Rods on the Bluff". They came in by the masses and the weather was very pleasent as the river breeze kicked up and over onto the parking lot. Enthusiasts from all over the Valley showed up to see the high calibar cars and also to see Fresno Underground Art display their hot rod inspired pieces. Spectators had the opportunity to shop at the numerous vendor booths while enjoying a root beer float or snow cone. When they got hungry they'd head over to Eureka Burger where they could pick from an assortment of gormet burgers. The August show marked Hot Rod Coalitions fifth event and I believe that after this past show the new tradition is cemented in Fresno's permenant calender. With over 3,000 spectators the local news media could help but cover this story. HRC had the priviledge of doing some interviews to explain why they do what they do. Special thanks goes out to Bob Martinez for all of his beautiful pictures. Check out his work at www.fireaviationphoto.com
